Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
1 3-5lb pork shoulder (pork butt or roast)
1 large sweet onion, halved & thinly sliced
1 can of soda (I use Coca-Cola, but root beer or Dr. Pepper would work too)
1 cup water
1 chicken bouillon cube, crushed
Put onions in bottom of slow cooker, with pork on top. Pour soda and water over pork. Sprinkle with crushed boullion cube.
Cover and cook on high for 8-10 hours.
Drain & reserve liquid. Shred pork. Add some reserved liquid to the meat to keep it moist.
If you don’t want onions in your pulled pork, cut it into chunks and remove with the liquid.
If you want to make BBQ pulled pork, simply add your favorite BBQ sauce (We like Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey Barbeque Sauce) o the pork after shredding instead of cooking liquid.
